At
11 months old, Tommy was turning into a wild child. He started crawling
super fast on all fours rather than doing the army crawl. He also liked
to "run" with someone holding both his hands- he would move his little
legs as fast as he could and run all around like that. We got him a
little ride-on car that he loved to sit on. He hadn't figured out yet
how to move it forward, so he could only ride backwards on it. He also
liked to crawl on his knees and push it around and collect toys along
the way to store in the little compartment under the seat. His "Gralla"
sent him a dinosaur tunnel that he had so much fun hiding in and
crawling in and out of. His other favorite toys were his blocks, shape
sorter, cars, and trucks. His favorite activities were wrestling, head
butting, and pulling hair.
He made big messes when he ate and would throw his food on the floor when he was done eating. He could say "done," but he would usually say that after he threw his food all over the floor. He also learned to say "baba" when he wanted a bottle, but sometimes he would say "mama" instead. He would also sing in the sweetest little voice. He liked to sing "Elmo's Song" from Sesame Street and it was so adorable when he would sing "La la la lala la la." He liked to take things in and out of any container- especially unpacking his diaper bag. We had to put locks on all of the cabinets as he started to make a habit of emptying them. I left a few cabinets and drawers unlocked with things that were safe for him to throw around. He would reach up and pull things off of tabletops too.
He
was growing more and more independent every day. He weaned himself
cold-turkey from breastfeeding. He loved play dates with friends, but he
also liked to go into corners of the living room or into his bedroom to
play alone. His favorite thing to do in his bedroom was to pull all of
the books off of the shelf and then sit on the floor and quietly read
each of the books one by one. When we would take something away from him
and he would get upset, he would yell and throw his head back and lie
on his back with his legs and arms spread out like a starfish. His
little mini-tantrums would only last about five seconds, but they made
Mommy nervous about the toddler years ahead!
Tommy
had some sweet, calm moments sprinkled in with all of the craziness. He
loved being outdoors and playing in the grass. When we would take him
on walks, he would just relax in his stroller and take in the view. He
would coo and laugh in the stroller and smile at the people we passed
by. Sometimes he also liked to just sit and relax with Daddy. They would
just sit together and take in a view or watch TV. He also loved to crawl over to his mama and shower her with hugs and kisses.

Thanks for posting this! Tommy is growing and changing so much! He is a very lucky boy to have such great parents.
